I was walking through the dark forest alone. Days of misery without singing birds, days of silent without the wind in the trees. The forest was lifeless, lost in the midst of solitude and I was looking for a way out. Suddenly, from the distance, I heard a voice. I wanted to go after it, because it was something good, beautiful and uplifting. But months, I wandered alone with despair. The voice was so distant, even though it led me through the dark forest beyond. As a glowing lantern led the way. As time went on, its voice was getting closer and I realized that the voice was mine! It was calling me back, back to life, the desire to live again. That desire was so strong that even through the dark forest came to me its voice. I was torn out of the darkness and oblivion. As the days and nights passed, the light permeated the suffering and I saw the world again. This journey has changed me like nothing before.

Our lantern of hope can’t be extinguished, because it is in all of us…

  1. “It is in all of us.”
Love the last sentence, and of course the entire post. Short and simple post, yet have a big impact in me. I’m trying to keep my lantern of hope shine through the darkness I will face in the future.
    Great post !
